Can You Really Go Full-Time on YouTube with Just 1000 Subscribers?
Can you make a living as a full-time content creator with just 1,000 subscribers? That’s the big question I’m setting out to answer. This summer, I’m taking the leap—full-time content creation, photography, and no backup plan.
Why I’m Making This Decision
In just a few months, I’ll be finishing my five years of university studies in architecture. Crazy, right? I’ve genuinely enjoyed studying architecture, but there’s one major problem—there are almost no jobs for new architects here in Sweden. The unemployment rate is extremely high, and recent forecasts suggest it won’t improve much in the next five years.
So after five years of hard work and earning a master’s degree, I might not even be able to find a job in my field. It’s a bit sad but also kind of funny at the same time.
This reality forces me to make a decision: what do I do next?
Why Full-Time Content Creation?
It’s not that I’m afraid of working—I actually enjoy working hard. What scares me is being stuck in an office five days a week, doing work that doesn’t challenge me creatively. I know that’s not the kind of environment where I thrive. I need projects that excite me, challenge me, and push me to grow.
That’s why I’ve decided to take a shot at going all in on content creation and photography. I know I won’t have a fully sustainable business based on social media in just three months, but I believe I can make it work by doing some freelance work while focusing the majority of my energy on building my online brand.

The Plan: How I’m Going to Make It Work
So, how exactly am I going to turn this into a full-time business?
The answer is simple: providing massive value to my audience—to you!
If there’s one thing I know, it’s photography and freelancing. With over eight years of experience as a freelance photographer, working on everything from small gigs to $10,000+ projects and even running a production company, I’ve learned a lot. Now, I want to share everything I know to help you improve your photography and start making money as a freelancer.
Here’s the strategy:
- Deliver Free, High-Value Content on YouTube – I’ll be sharing my best tips, insights, and strategies for photography and freelancing.
- Launch Digital Products – Once I’ve built a strong foundation, I’ll create and sell digital products designed to help you make money with photography.
- Build a Community – I want to take you along on this journey, providing regular updates on my progress and sharing what’s working and what’s not.
